2048, the addictive puzzle game developed by Gabriele Cirulli, has invaded the lives of many people.

This is a simple but highly addictive game. Now, metal fans can play the Metallica 2048 game online. The Metallica version of 2048 tile game works on the same formula. The player has to add similar Metallica album titles together using arrow keys in the keyboard.

2048 Metallica features different album titles like "Black," "Ride The Lightning," "Kill 'Em All," "Master of Puppets," "And Justice for All," and "Load."

In 2048 Metallica tile game, one plays in the four-by-four grid. The player starts with two of the same album cover generally with "Kill 'Em All," and after shuffling them the player notices different album covers in the grid. It may look simple at first, but as the game progresses the player will find it difficult to add up the album covers.

2048 game turned out to be quite interesting and quickly joined the league of Candy Crush Saga and Flappy Bird.

Soon after 2048 was launched on the internet numerous parodies surfaced. According to Independent, different rip-offs of 2048, including a multiplayer version, a Tetris look-alike and an edition in which the player wins instantly. Like Metallica 2048, there are spin-offs that replaced numbers with characters, like "Doctor Who" and doge versions.

The fans of Flappy Bird can rejoice because there is a Flappy Bird version of 2048 available.

But 2048 game itself is a clone of another popular puzzle released in January named Threes. Somehow, Threes could not enjoy the fame like its rip-off 2048, which became a viral success.

Developers of Threes, Asher Vollmer and Greg Wohlwend, talked about 2048's success.

"We do believe imitation is the greatest form of flattery, but ideally the imitation happens after we've had time to descend slowly from the peak - not the moment we plant the flag," Asher and Greg said to The Guardian.

"Even writing this feels like we're whining about some sour grapes that we have no business feeling sour about. Like it's not OK to feel the way we do some of the time. But we do."
