With Aug 1 identified as the launch date for Google's Moto X and New York as the venue, the next questions on techies' minds is how much will the new smartphone be priced and how what does it look like?

Slashgear, citing several sources, hinted that the much-awaited device could possibly have a price tag of $299 off-contract. For the 32GB version, the price would be at $349 or $399, off-contract, the Web site reported, pointing to Gizmofusion's anonymous contract within the Android Community as the source of its buzz.

Given that price forecast, Slashgear said carrier models of the phone would likely be sold at $99 and $149 for two-year contracts.

Even before Google purchased Motorola Mobility, the old owners of Motorola sold its phones at reasonable prices and it appears that Google will continue with the tradition, which could pose a threat to the sales of higher-priced smartphones from Apple and Samsung.

Although techies had been given a brief glimpse of the phone being used by Google Chairman Eric Schmidt, there is not much leaked image of the Moto X outside the white casing.

Slashgear published a new photo leak courtesy of FCC as well as more specs.

The Web site said the Moto X will have a 128.5 mm body that is 65 mm wide, a non-removable 2200 mAh bATTERY, 2 cameras with the front-facing one being 2.1 megapixels and the back shooter 10.5 megapixels, and running on Qualcomm S4 Pro MSM8960DT 1.7 GHz Soc with Adreno 320 GPU.

The screen will be 4.3 inches with 720x1184 pixels or a screen density of 320 dpi, according to anTuTu.
