32 GB Google Nexus 9 LTE Model Receives FCC Approval, Release Date Pegged As November 12
The Google Nexus 9 is available in three options, 16 GB Wi-Fi Only, 32 GB Wi-Fi Only and 32 GB LTE edition. Currently, except the LTE edition, the remaining editions of Nexus 9 are available for purchase since November 9. Google has already listed the 32 GB Google Nexus with LTE connectivity as "coming soon" on the Google Play Store. According to Droid Life, the LTE model has already bagged FCC certification.
According to Droid Life, a tablet with HTC branding was spotted at FCC with ID NM80P82300. Though Google has not confirmed that the very same edition is LTE model of Nexus 9, Droid Life feels that it is the 32 GB LTE Nexus 9. It is only after undergoing FCC certification, tech products can be sold in the U.S.
By the way, the tablet that has reached FCC does not have the word "Nexus" mentioned on it. Droid Life states that the FCC ID NM80P82100 of Nexus 9 Wi-Fi only edition is quite similar to the tablet that has recently cleared FCC certification. Droid Life even goes on to speculate that the HTC Nexus 9 will support 10 LTE bands which means that tablet will support all the leading carriers of the U.S. The Nexus 6 also supports 10 LTE bands. The Nexus 9 supports GS850 and 1900 bands along with WCDMA bands 2, 4 and 5. This shows that the tablet will also support global roaming.
As of now, we are unsure when the LTE edition of the Nexus 9 will be available for purchase. However, the FCC approval indicates that the release of the tablet is just around the corner.
