For all users of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 in both 10.1 and 7.0 variants, the much-awaited Android 4.1 Jellybean update has been released for both devices.

The update for Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 was released in November 2012 to other parts of the world and finally the setback for the U.S. has ended, with the version for U.S. users now ready for download via Over-the-Air process.

The update improves overall performance of both tablet versions and is packed with the following new features:

  • Resizable widgets
  • Google Now
  • Project Butter
  • TouchWiz improvements

If the device does not automatically prompt about the update, simply follow this: Settings>About Tablet>Check for Update. Samsung Kies can also be used to update the device by plugging it to the computer provided that Samsung Kies is installed.

The sporting model number known to have the Wi-Fi update is GT-P5113. The size of the update is at least 300MB with a build number of JRO03C. Make sure to backup all data files inside the device for avoid data lose and should have at least 50 per cent battery level to avoid any problems.
