It has been a while since moviegoers have seen Keanu in action. By November 2012, the "Matrix" star will finally be shown in theatres once again, which may possibly be one of his coolest roles for quite a time.

A fan took a snapshot of a completely robed-up Keanu at Shepperton studios. This is said to be the first unofficial shot of Reeves in character for his upcoming movie "47 Ronin," as reported by Total FIlm.

The "47 Ronin" is about a group oif samurai warriors who were left leaderless after their feudal lord committed a ritual suicide after assaulting a court official. After being called "ronins," the 47 devised a two-year plan wherein they will avenge the lost honor of their master. All 47 were forced to commit seppuku as well. This story is very well-known to every Japanese, which teaches loyalty, sacrifice, persistence and honor that should be preserved in their daily lives.

The story of the 47 Ronin has been made in to a movie at least six times. This remake is a remake of the 1994 version directed by Kon Ichikawa, which was a remake of the 1941 version, which was not released in the West until the 70's.

"In the film, Reeves will play an enigmatic outsider named Kai, who joins the titular gang of samurai in their quest to avenge the death of their master at the hands of an evil lord," as reported by Total Film.

Reeves broke through the Hollywood scene after starring in the 1989 comedy "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure." He eventually gained more serious roles in movies like "Speed," "Johnny Mnemonic," "Devil's Advocate," and gained notoriety as Neo in "The Matrix."

"47 Ronin" will be helmed by Carl Rinsch, a director who have padded his transcript with great commercials and music videos. Rinsch was originally pegged to direct the "Alien" prequel for Ridley Scott.

"Watching his commercials, it's easy to see why he might be a choice for a 21st Century Alien film," reported Slashfilm.com.

"47 Ronin" is already in post -production, and will soon hit the big screens on November 21, 2012.
