The Android 4.4 Kitkat is one of the awaited OS updates coming out, and while it has first debuted on the Nexus 5, there are already a number of devices that have been hinted to get the update.

Nexus 5

When the LG Nexus 5 was announced as a handset, Google also announced that this will be the first smartphone that will feature the newest Android 4.4 Kitkat update.

This means that once the Nexus 5 is released in the market, it's already touting the latest Android OS. According to Droid-Life, the Nexus 5 will be a bit more expensive compared to when the Nexus 4 has launched in 2012. One of the contracts that you can avail of is T-Mobile, which will sell the LG Nexus 5 for $449 via Google Play.

Nexus 7 and 10

Still in the family of Nexus devices, the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS has already found its way to the tablet segment via the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

Android and Me reports that Google has already announced that the 2012 and 2013 editions of the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 will be representing its tablet segment in devices that have the Android 4.4 Kitkat.

The rollout of the update has already started for the two devices, making them among the first to get the Android 4.4 Kitkat.

Nexus 4

Surprisingly, the Nexus 4 will get the Android 4.4 Kitkat later than other Nexus devices, and no specific date has been announced yet on when it will be updated, according to a report from ZDNet.

However, since this is a Nexus device, it's highly likely that it won't be left behind for too long, so for owners of the device, it would be best to wait it out for a bit.

Moto X

With Motorola now under the wing of Google, it's no surprise that its flagship phone, Moto X, will be one of the first getting the Android 4.4 Kitkat, at least according to an announcement from CEO Dennis Woodside.

Tech 2 had reported said that the Moto X will get the latest update in a matter of weeks, though a definite timeframe has not yet been confirmed. If this is true, then the Moto X will be one of the flagship phones that will get the Android 4.4 Kitkat besides the Nexus units.

Sony Xperia Z1

Sony is joining the ranks of other companies that will be receiving the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS update, and one of its newest smartphones, the Sony Xperia Z1, will get it.

Associated News reports that this is a move to ensure that Sony will not be left behind in terms of getting its devices the latest Android OS. Following the Sony Xperia Z1, the Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z and Xperia ZL are expected to get the Android 4.4 Kitkat update no later than the first quarter of 2014.
