5 NBA Players Who Dunked Over LeBron James
LeBron James is currently the most dominant player in the NBA. He posterizes centers and power forwards on a regular basis and normally gets into the top 10 list of best dunks of the week. LeBron also has a formidable defense and is a terrific blocker, so it would be quite difficult to dunk over him. However, a number of players managed to do the opposite and posterize King James. Here is a non-definitive list of five players who dunked over the superstar.
1. Jonas Valanciunas
During a game between the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat, LeBron and the Heat were leading 64-57 in the third quarter. Guard DeMar DeRozan found the Lithuanian center open and passed. Valanciunas leaped up towards the basket but James was there to challenge the shot. The 7'0" European, however, had a higher reach and slammed the ball over LeBron.
2. Ramon Sessions
During a game between the Charlotte Bobcats and Miami Heat, the 6'3" guard was on a fast break in the third quarter with the Bobcats leading 69-65. As Sessions got closer to the painted area, LeBron leaped up to attempt a chasedown block. It seemed like King James was going to get the much smaller Sessions but the latter dunked the ball in with his right arm with so much force that left LeBron with an embarrassed look.
3. Jordan Crawford
During skills academy sponsored by LeBron and Nike, the 6'4" guard was playing for Xavier University against LeBron James. An amateur video featured the sophomore dunk over James with both hands. The video was initially confiscated by Nike but still leaked a week after the incident in 2008.
4. Paul George
During a game between the Indiana Pacers and the Miami Heat, Paul George went coast-to-coast and when he got near the rim, proceeded to dunk over LeBron James, hanging on the rim for a few more seconds to cherish the moment. He could be heard via a microphone saying "Let's go! Let's go!" after the big dunk.
5. Nene
In their 2014 match, LeBron initially drove towards the Washington Bullets' basket and attempted a layup but it was swatted away by Nene. Later on, point guard John Wall found an open Nene in the middle of the paint then the latter finished off with a one-handed slam over the defending James.
