Some TV series have to be axed after just a few episodes due to bad ratings. Some of these featured a great cast and even convenient time slots but the story did not turn out to be much, triggering producers to cut their losses immediately.

1. Trophy Wife

According to Business Insider, "Trophy Wife" was positively received by critics, but the cast was too expensive to keep. The ABC series featured Kate, played by Malin Akerman, who married Bradley Whitford, who played the role of Pete. Things started to get interesting when Pete's two ex-wives and three children enter the picture. The season presented its finale on the 22nd episode.

2. The Crazy Ones

In a report by TVSeriesFinale.com, the CBS series was cancelled after one season due to an expensive cast and mediocre ratings. "The Crazy Ones" starred Robin Williams, who played the role of Simon Roberts. Sarah Michelle Gellar played the role of Sydney. The story revolves around the working relationship of Robert, a successful ad executive, and Sydney, his daughter and protegee.

3. Crossbones

WetPaint.com writes that the NBC series was cancelled and that the last two episodes were taken off the schedule. The plot of Crossbones revolves around pirates ruled by Edward "Blackbeard" Teach, played by John Malkovich. The series received mixed reviews from fans and critics, causing it to end after just nine episodes.

4. Crisis

Huffington Post said that the NBC drama series was cancelled after 13 episodes. The series featured Dermot Mulroney, Rachael Taylor and Lance Gross among others and revolves around the experiences of students, including the President's son, during an ambush, leading to a national crisis.

5. Bad Teacher

The CBS comedy series was based on Cameron Diaz's movie of the same title. However, the show only ran for three episodes due to poor ratings. Ari Graynor played the role of Meredith Davis, an ex-housewife who aimed to meet a rich guy to get rich. She becomes a middle school teacher to find the perfect mate. The show received mixed reviews from fans and critics, who shared that not all successful films can convert into equally successful TV shows.
