Pets should be kept dry all the time to keep them from getting colds and other diseases. Always have a towel ready to dry off moisture and wetness that may accumulate on their legs, feet and underbelly. Moisture that stays on the scalp can also develop into hot spots and other skin problems.

Use a nail clipper of the right size. Be careful to cut only up to the quick of the nail to prevent pain and bleeding. Prepare blood clotting powder just in case you cut too deep. Make the activity a bonding session between you and your pet. A study published on the National Center for Health Research showed that great pet relationship can actually lead to longer lifespan and disease prevention among humans.

5. Tooth brushing

Many pets primarily use their mouth to perform various activities, which is why you have to keep their oral cavity and teeth clean all the team. Brush your pet's teeth daily using a special toothbrush and animal toothpaste. Brushing will prevent plaque formation and bad breath and keep the gums healthy.
