So you've started playing "Pokemon X and Y," but have you already captured Mewtwo? How about accessorising and letting your avatar look great? Do you know how to breed your Pokemon so you have a spare to train and evolve?

Here are some "Pokemon X and Y" tips and tricks to get you by as you play the game.

Choosing Your Starter is Everything

Careful planning is a good strategy for "Pokemon X and Y." While you have three starters to choose from (Fennekin, Froakie and Chespin), you have to remember that their final forms also have a second affinity once they reach the final evolution.

Venture Beat reports that, when building your part of monsters in "Pokemon X and Y," you should remember to note which kinds of types your Pokemons will have, so that you don't have to double in terms of what you have to cover.

Make Use of the Exp Share Function

One of the innovations that the "Pokemon X and Y" has is the EXP SHARE. According to Pocket Gamer, you can easily give your whole team experience when you catch a Pokemon in a Pokeball during battle. This means that you can spread the experience throughout the entire team, from those who participated in the battle as well as those in the sidelines.

Also, when making use of the EXP SHARE, you have to remember to have Revives at the ready because the experience cannot be gained with a Pokemon that has already fainted.

At least six of your pocket monsters should be healthy for the experience to mean something.

Breeding and Training Go Hand in Hand

In "Pokemon X and Y," training can be a double-edged sword. While you may want to improve your deck of cards, there may be some Pokemon types that you would not be able to easily let go of.

If you want to have more than just one kind of Pokemon, so you can improve the powers of one and retain the form of the other, you can easily do so with breeding. LazyGamer reports that you only need to catch a Ditto so you can breed almost any kind of Pokemon with it.

However, there are only two ways to do this -- either by completing the main game or importing one from an older game.

Once you do have a Ditto and have opted to breed some of the Pokemons, you can also take advantage of the new super training mode for "Pokemon X and Y." This new feature is worth the trouble for those who want to seriously train their Pokemons. And this time, you no longer need the trouble that usually comes with training these pocket monsters.

How to Get Mewtwo

One of the more epic monsters for "Pokemon X and Y" is Mewtwo, and if you are raring to capture this, Venture Beat has a simple way to do so. You have to go to the Pokemon Village, cross a stream via Surf HM and get into a cave entrance on the western side.

You can fight Mewtwo inside the cave, but you have to beat the Elite Four first. A man will be blocking the entrance to the cave and will only disappear once you've defeated the Elite Four.

Also, remember that Mewtwo is level 70, so you would either need a lot of Ultra Balls or have a Master Ball to capture it.

Accessorise Your Character

Among the more enjoyable -- but albeit less useful -- parts of "Pokemon X and Y" is accessorising your character.

Your avatar represents you in the game, so take the time to dress up your avatar. Of course, you will need money to buy nicer accessories, so this is not a requirement at the start of the game.

When you do have the means to buy, visit the boutiques on a regular basis, as they stock on different kinds of clothes on different days, reports Kotaku. You can also change the hairstyle, hair colour and even eye colour of your avatar. You can do all of these in Lumiose City.

This is also good so you can get into the more exclusive areas in the "Pokemon X and Y" world, as you will also need to be decked out in your Sunday best to do so.
