Grammy-award winner Taylor Swift shared before that a number of her songs were actually about former boyfriends. Some of these actually became big hits and helped people relate to her better. Here are five Swift songs that allegedly detailed her past relationships.

1. Tim McGraw

"Tim McGraw" is one of her earlier songs which was reportedly about her high school boyfriend, Brandon Borello. Swift anticipated that their relationship was coming to an end as he prepared to enter college. She wrote the song as a way to say goodbye in advance.

2. Teardrops on My Guitar

There were talks that the song was about Drew Hardwick, Taylor's high school crush. The country singer sang about how she felt for him during that time. However, Drew only discovered the song after Taylor was already famous. He reportedly asked her out but Taylor said no, since she already moved on.

3. Dear John and The Story of Us

Accordingly, the song was about singer John Mayer. Swift and Mayer were linked for a few months before official reports confirmed that the two split. In an article by Billboard.com, the song is about how John should have been more careful with her 19-year-old heart back then. Another song, "The Story of Us", was also said to be about the "Your Body is a Wonderland" singer.

4. Last Kiss

It is widely known that Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers broke up with Taylor via a 27-second phone call. The song talks about taking an aggressive stance after being treated in such a manner. The singer also wrote other songs, allegedly for Joe, such as "Forever and Always" and "Holy Ground".

5. Shake It Off

One of her latest songs was allegedly about Harry Styles of One Direction, whom she broke up with in 2013. According to Hollywood Life, a source said that the song was actually for all of Taylor's dating experiences combined. It talks about how the singer found her strength and is now enjoying the single life. Billboard.com reported that Taylor wrote "I Knew You Were Trouble" about Styles and tweeted the lyrics of the song when they broke up.
