In just a few days, Halloween will be here, and already, cosplays have been appearing left and right on Tumblr and Reddit featuring costumes that would wreck some major havoc in any Halloween Party.

Gamers and game fanatic can also give it their best shot, as some of the most fun Halloween costumes (and cosplays) have been based on video games. Here are the top five Halloween costumes that can bring the spooks or put your friends in awe.

"Silent Hill"

Pretty much any of the characters in "Silent Hill" will make a great scary costume for any Halloween Party. But this cosplay from an Imgur user pulls off the Bubblehead Nurse in a creepy and cool manner.

Some of the other monsters that have seen the glory of cosplay days include Pyramid Head, Heather Mason, and all the other nurses in the entire "Silent Hill" franchise.

"Borderlands 2"

If you want to go crazy on the artwork and effort with your costume, "Borderlands" would be a great bet.

You can aim for the rather simpler ones like Krieg the Psycho, as decked out by this guy from Imgur, this pretty close-to-realistic costume of Zer0, or the awesome Salvador in this set of images from Geeknative.

For the women, you can go for a more detailed Mad Moxxi look, complete with the red hat and striped socks, or go with a simpler look to pull off with Lilith from Chrixdesign at Blogspot--though the tattoos and gear may require a bit of work. Here's a sample of a Lilith cosplayer who has everything, even the tattoos, down pat.

"Batman: Arkham Origins"

Jumping the bandwagon of one of the anticipated and liked games as well as a good choice for superhero fanatics, would be "Batman: Arkham Origins."

You not only have the Caped Crusader and his sidekick to choose from, but also the eight assassins and the other villains and thugs in the game.

Here's a cosplay of the big bad boss of the game, Black Mask, from DeviantArt user, Zaurask. For those who have more time to compose their costumes, this one cosplay creation from rvb18 at The RPF shows off a pretty realistic "Batman: Arkham Origins" Deathstroke look.

For the ladies, Copperhead would be a great mix of sexy and fierce (a far cry from the original male character). You can also choose to go with Barbara Gordon, but keep in mind that she's not playing Batgirl this time.

"GTA 5"

Perhaps one of the easy as pie costumes that you can do would be based on the "GTA 5" characters. While Michael, Trevor, and Franklin may have their signature looks, you probably would need more attitude than clothes to pull of these characters.

The ladies also have their own characters to choose from, though albeit minor ones, like Amanda De Santa, Tracey, Molly Shultz, or you can also go for the blond girl who was supposedly modeled after Shelby Welinder.

"Tomb Raider's" Lara Croft

By far one of the most well-known video game character and most cosplayed on Halloween and beyond is Lara Croft from Tomb Raider. And cosplaying Lara has become more fun ever since Square-Enix has evolved the character from its Minecraft-life proportions to the realistic-looking lady in the game.

Already, the Lara Croft of 2013 has been cosplayed a number of times, like this one from DeviantArt user Anastasya01, and even Alexa Karii, a professional cosplayer. featured in CosplayField.

Lara Croft of 2013 is a bit more conservative, but you can always go with her costume back in the days, like this one cosplayed by Eve Beauregard.
