'50 Shades of Grey' Author E.L. James Tweets: 'We are so far away from choosing Leads'
Fans of the erotic novel "50 Shades of Grey" might need to wait a little bit more for the movie: the author E.L. James just tweeted that they are a long way off in casting the lead characters for the movie adaptation.
"Though the production news broke Monday, the British author tweeted previously on July 6: 'We are so far away from casting the Fifty films ... no-one ruled is out... no one is ruled in. Just so you know.'" reported Celebuzz about the casting of actors.
E.L. James is the pseudonym of Erika Leonard, a British author known for creating the erotic novel "50 Shades of Grey". The trilogy was first created as a fan fiction for the "Twilight" saga.
The tweet's timing was impeccable, since there were rumors going about that the author did not want Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart to play the film's leads, even though both actors acted out the inspiration for the characters.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are actors best known for playing the roles of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan respectively in the movie adaptations of the vampire novel "Twilight." They met in the set of the movie and is currently dating for quite some time now.
Many fans of the book have done some self-casting of who they want to portray, with names like Ian Somerhalder and Alexander Skaargard appearing for the titular character of Christian Grey while names like Rooney Mara Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood are said to be perfect for the role of Ana.
Even if the tweet of the author rained down on this parade, fans are pretty excited about updates on the production, especially when they got wind that producers from "The Social Network" such as Dana Brunetti and Michael DeLuca are now officially on board.
Fans initially thought that by releasing the names of the producers of the film, the production would be a step closer to finding the right blend of Grey and Steele.
No matter how long the wait, it is sure that fans of the book as well as curious individuals will still be anticipating its release.
