A viral video came out Saturday about a movie promotion with "New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel and her co-star from "500 Days of Summer," Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Rumors are rumors, it seems. The video was simply Zooey's way of greeting her fans a "Happy New Year" and her fans loved her for it. It proved that the actress can surely belt out a tune and play a guitar. Even Gordon-Levitt can hold a tune.

The two made a cover of 1947 Nancy Wilson's "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" Gordon-Levitt was dressed in a white shirt, black jacket and a matching tie to boot, while the quirky and adorable Deschanel was dressed in a white dress and donned a tiara.

Apart from rumors about another movie together, it caused the rumor mill to create another headline: "new couple alert!" They certainly have chemistry on-screen, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they actually dated in real life. The two-minute video hints that they might have something hidden between all the quick glances and goofy smiles.

The two have known each other for 12 years despite having only filmed one movie together. In the video post by Deschanel, she claimed to have bonded with Gordon-Levitt over their mutual appreciation of Nina Simone and Harry Nilsson.

"I have known Joe Gordon-Levitt for going on 12 years. We first met in the summer of 2000 while doing a tiny movie called 'Manic', where we bonded over a mutual appreciation for Harry Nilsson and Nina Simone and I have been lucky enough to call him one of my dearest friends ever since. When we did '500 Days of Summer' 8 years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and makeup trailer; we had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him because he's simply the best. But in the meantime, we made a little New Year's duet for all of you! The original by Nancy Wilson. ENJOY! Don't forget to check out Joe's website http://hitrecord.org/," shares Zooey on her post on YouTube, posted as well on Huffington Post.

Fans and friends are wondering what else the two bonded on.

Even after Zooey's divorce with her husband, Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard, she proves she can move on as easily as her character in "New Girl" and that she has loads of time to casually flirt with her old co-star and friend.
