Sometimes, kids and technology mix in a way that is both fortunate and apt. This is certainly one of those times.

In an incredible story, a boy younger than 10 saved his mother and himself from a site of an accident that might have taken hours before anyone found them.

A 6-year-old boy living in upstate New York is being called and treated as a hero for using his mother's cell phone to call 911 after her car had an unfortunate and ferocious crashed down a 150-foot embankment outside of Albany.

Authorities report that Dolores Dober was driving on a road in the rural town of Berne Saturday afternoon when her car glided into the other lane and she turned sharply to avoid a truck.

Police say she overcompensated with her driving which caused the car to topple down a bank and flip over onto its roof.

Dober was trapped in her seat and had a difficult time keeping herself awake. Reports say that she was slipping in and out of consciousness. Interim Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple tells the Times Union of Albany that Dober's son, Aaron Wright, snatched her cell phone, got out of the car, scrambled to go up the embankment and dialled 911.

Many are saying that if not for that single smart move, mother and child could not have been seen in time and as such would have been in a bad way when the ambulance came. People are lauding the young boy's ingenuity and presence of mind.

Dober and Aaron were treated at a hospital and released soon after. Progress reports about their condition as of late have not yet been made public but they are expected to be well on their way to a speedy and beautiful recovery.
