Broadway stars, singers, musicians, and celebrities gather for the 65th Tony Awards in New York City arriving in glamorous ensembles.

A night of music was celebrated Broadway style, with How I Met Your Mother and stage actor Neil Patrick Harris hosting the event. Big winners of the night are South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone for their delightful musical Book of Mormon, which has been receiving raving reviews since its debut. The musical won eight awards, including Best Score, Best Musical, Best Book Musical Adaptation, and Best Direction of a Musical for Trey Parker and Casey Nicholaw.

Another big winner is the long-running musical Anything Goes, with a Best Choreography and Best Performance of a Leading Actress for Sutton Foster. War Horse also received a couple of awards, winning Best Play and Best Direction of a Play for Tom Morris and Marianne Elliott. Australia's very own Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner attended the event and won the Best Costume for The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert. The audience enjoyed performances from participating musicals and plays, including a smashing number from the cast of Anything Goes.

Stars who attended the event include model Christie Brinkley, who arrived in a light blue ball gown. The likes of Daniel Radcliffe, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Chris Rock presented awards, complimenting Harris for his stellar performances aside from hosting the event. Famous Hollywood stars who were nominated were The Sopranos star Edie Falco, Al Pacino, and Elen Burkin, who won an award for her performance in A Normal Heart.
