7 Must-See Movies in Australia Showing this August: Mortal Instruments, Jobs, Kick Ass 2! (SLIDESHOW + TRAILERS)
A lot of wonderful movies are hitting Australian theatres this August mostly from the adventure, sci-fi and thriller genres. Moreover, one of the most anticipated biopics of the year, Jobs, which stars Ashton Kutcher is slated on the last week of the last winter month.

The World's End - August 1, Thursday
Funny man Simon Pegg brings another science fiction comedy film about five childhood friends who are reunited to reconcile their past and present to reach the fabled pub, The World's End. However, their attempt will bring trouble to humankind and the future.
Elysium - August 15, Thursday
Matt Damon and Jodie Foster stars in Elysium, a science fiction action movie set in 2159 that will take Damon on a mission to hijack his way to the luxurious man-made space habitat. Earth has become an overpopulated, ruined planet wherein the people force their way to enter Elysium but is stoped by a hard line government official played by Foster.
We're the Millers - August 15, Thursday
Jennifer Aniston plays a stripper in We're the Millers, a comedy film about a drug dealer, played by Jason Sudeikis, in his attempt to get through customs without being suspected of bringing marijuana form Mexico. The film also stars Emma Roberts as a runaway girl and Will Polter as a virgin teenage boy also hired by the drug dealer to make a bogus family and cross the borders without being suspected of carrying illegal drugs.
Oldboy - August 18, Sunday
Spike Lee's Oldboy is a remake of the Korean cult mystery thriller of the same name. Josh Brolin portrays the role of an advertising executive who is kidnapped and imprisoned for twenty years in solitary confinement without knowing the real reason. He vows to find the person responsible to take his revenge.
Kick-Ass 2 - August 22, Thursday
Kick-Ass 2 is the sequel to 2010's Kick-Ass, which starred Nicolas Cage, Chloe Moretz and Aaron Taylor Johnson as Kick-Ass. Jim Carrey joins the sequel as Colonel Stars and Stripes. Meanwhile, Kick-Ass' nemesis Red Mist is back and plans to revenge against him for his father's death.
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones - August 22, Thursday
Lily Collins stars as Clary Fray in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, an adventure fantasy film based on Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series. Fray was the only witnesses to a murder in a nightclub and finds out that her mother is kidnapped in their home in New York City. She must find out her past and the truth about her bloodline to save her mother.
Jobs - August 29, Thursday
Ashton Kutcher portrays the role of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs following his life from 1971 to 2000. Those times chronicles Job's early years from being a college drop out and starting up Apple in a garage with partner Steve Wozniak to getting booted out of the full-fledged company he helped established and his return to rescue Apple from bankruptcy in 1998.
