'7th Heaven' Actor Stephen Collins Admits To Molesting Young Girls, Dropped From 'Ted 2,' Fans Shocked
Following "7th Heaven" actor Stephen Collins' admission of child molestation surfaced through leaked tapes of his conversation with his therapist and ex, actress Faye Grant, the actor has been removed from the cast of "Ted 2." The actor also resigned from his position on the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild. Fans, who grew up watching him in the wholesome and family-oriented "7th Heaven," coould not believe it.
On Tuesday, recordings of the 67-year-old actor allegedly confessing to molesting and harassing young girls, a young relative of his wife included, surfaced. On the said recordings, his wife, Faye Grant and their therapist were conversing to him about the molestation incidents. Collins is said to be providing explicit details on how he harassed the little girls.
The recordings are currently being used for investigation. In California, secretly recorded conversations are considered legal if the recording was done to gather evidence against a person believed to be committing a violent felony. Included in the list of felony acts is the molestation of minors, or 14 years and below.
His small part in the upcoming sequel to the hit 2012 comedy, "Ted," has been scrapped as a result. A production source for "Ted 2" confirmed to E News that his small role had to be cut because of the controversy.
In the said confession of his sexual crimes, Collins detailed how he molested an 11-year-old girl from New York, who was also a relative of his first wife. "There was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my p----," the actor allegedly detailed in the audio recording. He also said he flashed himself to the girl several times.
The New York Police Department told E News that there is now a complaint lodged against the actor. More importantly, the Manhattan Special Victims Unit is also onto the case and investigating it already. Collins' attorney has yet to give an official statement regarding the case.
Fans of the actor, especially those who have grown up watching WB's religious family drama "7th Heaven," where Collins played Reverend Eric Camden are seriously crushed. Most of them could not believe it and were absolutely disgusted. Some felt like their childhood was ruined.
