Actress Sarah Goldberg, best known as the doctor who played Matt Camden's girlfriend for three long years for one of the longest running family-oriented show, "7th Heaven," died on her bed at 40. While an autopsy failed to determine the cause of her death, her mother shared that this could be because of a heart ailment.

On September 27, Sarah was found dead in her sleep with her laptop on her lap. The actress' family said she died peacefully. Her mother told Chicago Sun Times that she was then living at the family cabin located in Wisconsin. "She went to sleep and didn't wake up," the mother shared.

The mother also shared that playing the doctor girlfriend of Matt Camden was one of the greatest achievements of the actress. It was a role that meant a lot to her, especially since her heart was also in the medical field, aside from being an actress. The actress earned her bachelor's degree in Biology, but was not able to pursue medical school. She went into acting instead, snapping up her first acting gig in "My Best Friend's Wedding" when she graduated. She played an extra for this romantic comedy featuring A-list actresses Cameron Diaz and Julia Roberts. She was part of the wedding scene.

"She would walk the street here, or places in Wisconsin, and people would come up to her and say, 'You played the daughter,'" her mother shared to the Chicago Sun-Times. "She wanted to go to medical school, and instead for three years she played a doctor on '7th Heaven.'"

Aside from her notable role in "7th Heaven," the actress also appeared in hit TV shows such as "House" and "Judging Amy." Sarah Goldberg also went by her stage name Sarah Danielle Madison. Even though services for the actress have already been held, the family is still asking for contributions via the Sarah Goldberg Memorial Fund at PAWS.

Barry Watson, who played her love interest Matt Camden, was one of those who took to Twitter toe express his grief. ‪#RIP Sarah. I will miss you always. Love Ya! B.
