'7th Heaven' Star Stephen Collins Cannot Be Charged With Child Molestation

Despite all the news and reports that have been devoted to the case of "7th Heaven" star Stephen Collins, and the incriminating audio clips of him admitting to molesting young girls, prosecutors say the actor cannot be charged with a case.

The case is currently under investigation by the New York Police Department, Los Angeles Police Department, as well as the Los Angels Sheriff's Department. However, TMZ reports that law enforcement sources have told them that the "case will go nowhere." The audio obtained from 2012 apparently has no bearing because the three cases in question are already decades old. This means the statute of limitations will bar prosecutors from charging the actor.

Last Wednesday however, LAPD has told US Weekly that the case is still being actively processed and investigated. "Special Victims Bureau detectives are working with New York Police Department authorities on this case," they shared to the magazine. "There is no further information at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing," they added.

Whether or not the case will go somewhere however, Guardian Liberty Voice claims that the actor's career is forever affected because of this issue. Moreover, his family and friends also think he's on the brink of committing suicide over this controversy.

"His family by no means condone what he's said to have done, but it doesn't stop them worrying about him,' a close family friend shared to MailOnline. "They fear he could take his own life. That's how low he is right now. No one wants to leave him by himself."

The case revolves around the actor's confession to his then therapist and wife (now ex-wife), Faye Grant in 2012. The "7^th Heaven" star allegedly admitted to living a secret life, wherein he abused several minors. He even allegedly recounted to flashing himself to these girls. His co-stars in one of the longest-running family oriented show with religious undertone, "7^th Heaven" however all stood by him when the news broke. Many could not remember a time when they felt uncomfortable with Stephen Collins or a time when the actor acted as if he had a secret life.
