An 8-year-old girl from Tjirrkali Aboriginal Community died after being rescued in a suspected abduction about 25 from the community.

The girl was found with her alleged abductor when police conducted aerial searches after a community leader reported the girl as missing.

Both were suffering from severe dehydration due to searing heat at the time they were found.

The girl's alleged abductor, Augustine "Gus" Winter Miller, 38, remains in hospital in a stable condition under police watch.

The young girl, whose name and photograph have been withheld for cultural reasons, left the Tjirrkali Aboriginal Community, 180 kilometres north-west of Warburton, with Miller, who also went by the name Darcy Miller, on a hunting trip, WA Today reported.

The community leader who reported them missing was worried when they did not come back on New Year's Eve considering they were on a two-wheel drive with only a limited supply of food.

It is believed that the girl's guardian is the domestic partner of Miller, who had been in the community for less than a year. He is currently facing charges for carrying illegal firearms.

A bedside hearing on initial charges against Miller is expected Wednesday.

Police are still waiting for an autopsy report before they could file further charges against the kidnapping suspect.

The young girl was unconscious when police found her at 2pm Tuesday. Temperatures in the area had been consistently close to 40C.

Police spokeswoman Susan Usher told WA Today rescuers took Miller and the child back to the community, but the girl's condition worsened. Police had tried CPR before the community nurse arrived, but the girl had passed on.

She was reportedly found weighing only 20 kilograms, having lost weight due to hunger, dehydration and fatigue, WA Today reported.

Miller was reportedly convicted of child sex offences in January 2006.
