AACTA Awards 2014: 3rd Aussie Oscars Complete List of Nominees [VIDEO]
It’s time for the Australian Oscars once again and the top films and television programs for 2013 will receive honors in no time. The third Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) has announced its nominees Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013.
Among the leading films bestowed recognition by organizers of the Aussie Oscars this year include Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby,” with 14 nominations and Kim Mordaunt’s “The Rocket,” with 12 honors.
The two leading films will battle against top films of the year including “The Turning,” with four nominations. The film with multiple directors are nominated for best film, best directing, and best actors and actresses for the lead categories.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the AACTA 2014 also named Catriona McKenzie’s “Satellite Boy,” Ivan Sen’s “Myrstery Road” and Tony Krawitz “Dead Europ” as other top nominees at the next Aussie Oscars.
Award’s for the top films and television programs will be presented at the event’s ceremonies initially scheduled at the Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 and the main event at the 3rd AACTA Awards Ceremony on Thursday, 2014.
