Aaron Paul: Life After Breaking Bad & Roles that He Wants to Play
Getting roles for movies is not going to be a problem when you happen to have two Emmy Awards, and Aaron Paul is definitely one of Hollywood's most talented actor in his generation. After the worldwide success of his hit TV show "Breaking Bad," Paul has been offered numerous roles and gone were the days when he has to fight for the role.
The 32-year-old actor is currently casted for the movie "Exodus" where plays the Hebrew slave Joshua opposite Christian Bale and directed by Ridley Scott. The Biblical epic based movie is about the life and times of Moses played by Bale as featured in the Book of Exodus.
"Exodus came out of nowhere. I was just like, 'Really? Do you want me to audition, maybe? You want me to fight for this, fight for the role?' I'm just so used to clawing and fighting," recalls Paul in an interview with Details magazine Feb issue.
The actor recent movie "Need for Speed" is set to hit the theaters on March 12, 2014 where he plays a street racer who takes revenge on a wealthy business associate after bring imprisoned for a crime that he didn't commit. For him to play the role efficiently, he spent his "days drifting around corners on the track."
"Running around, driving like a maniac in really expensive, fast cars? Why not? After six long, intense years on Breaking Bad, this was perfect," says the award-winning actor.
When asked what kind of roles he wants in the future, he said only wants "to do special projects." "I would rather not work than work on just okay stuff. The things that really excite me are the things that make you feel," he told the magazine.
"I gravitate toward edgy, intense, dark films that just grab you by the throat."
With "Better Call Saul" going into production, Paul says that he is interested to do the "Breaking Bad" prequel if they network will have them. "Both Bryan and I want to be a part of that. If they'll have us," he adds.
