Abdel-Kader Russell-Boumzar, Brisbane Teen Charged With Racially Abusing Train Guard, Caught Breaching Bail At Schoolies Week
The Brisbane teenager who was charged with racially abusing a train security guard has been found breaching bail. Abdel-Kader Russell-Boumzar was discovered at Schoolies.
Russell-Boumzar made headlines in October when footage of him verbally attacking a Queensland Rail security guard has been uploaded online. The video, filmed by his friends who were laughing along with him, saw him telling Josphat Mikhwananzi to “learn some f------ English” and calling him a “black dog.”
He also challenged the calm guard to a fight, as well as the other passengers who intervened. His rant started when Mikhwananzi asked him to take his feet off the seat.
Russell-Boumzar, 17, was charged with assault, serious assault, making threats, creating a disturbance and using a carriage service to menace. As part of his bail conditions, he was ordered to stay away from Queensland Rail services and to stay at his parents’ home when he is not at work.

However on Saturday, Russell-Boumzar was caught violating his bail condition when he was seen at the Cavill Mall in Surfers Paradise, about 80km away from their house.
According to Brisbane Times, He faced the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday, and was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and breaching his bail conditions. He pleaded guilty to both. He was fined a total of $350. He will be back in court on December 8.
Russell-Boumzar previously apologised for his racist outburst. He was forbidden to contact Mikhwananzi, though he gave his apology to him in front of the press outside the courthouse. His 18-year-old companion on the train, Bailey Clout, who shot the video, pleaded guilty to creating a public disturbance, and was fined $400.
The racial attack was condemned by political leaders, including Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Queensland Premier Campbell Newman, who praised Mikhwananzi for showing admirable restraint and responding professionally during the difficult situation.
