AC Milan is reportedly ramping up its chase for Olivier Giroud with I Rossoneri expected to pitch their offer for the French national.

Chelsea exercised its one-year extension option for the 34-year-old, but it appears this will not stop AC Milan from pursuing Giroud.

According to a report from transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, AC Milan will go on as planned and work on bringing Giroud to San Siro.

However, this will still depend on how determined the French footballer is in leaving the Blues camp.

It would be best to note that AC Milan has reportedly offered a two-year deal worth about £4.3 million ($6 million) for Giroud.

It remains to be seen if this will be enough to convince Chelsea to part ways with the French striker.

The Blues are reportedly open to severing their ties with Giroud on the premise that they are able to sign a striker to take his place, the Telegraph reported.

Hence, this is another prerequisite that is worth considering if Giroud will move to San Siro this summer.

Speaking of Giroud, it appears that he struck a nerve when he lashed out at his teammates.

Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain responded to the criticism following their Euro 2020 win over Bulgaria.

The 34-year-old was unhappy because his teammates did not give him enough service and ignored his movement in that match, Sky Sports reported.

"I was a little quiet because, sometimes, I make runs and the balls aren't forthcoming," Giroud said, "I am not saying that I always make the best runs but I am seeking to offer solutions in the box."

Giroud’s comments did not sit well with Mbappe, who felt that it would have been better to address his frustration internally than making it public.

"But making it [the argument] public...I would have preferred to let him come and be even more vocal in the changing room. It's happened to me. We have known each other for a while,” Mbappe stated.
