Acer Aspire M5 has WiDi Upgrade and Runs on Haswell
Acer released Aspire M5 for more than a year now but the company continues to release a multitude of updates for users to take advantage. Acer just announced it will be offering an M5 update. They device will now run on Intel's latest Haswell plus it will also feature new speakers and Intel's Wireless Display technology.
The device goes officially by M5-583P-6428. It features a 4th-generation Core i5 processor and 8GB of RAM plus 500GB storage. The laptop still has the simplistic design with the barebones intact. Acer Aspire M5 features a silver aluminum finish plus a soft-touch bottom layer to allow optimal desk grip.
Aside from the latest Haswell chip, Acer also decided to include Intel's WiDi technology in the M5. This allows users to connect their laptop and desktop wirelessly. The laptop mirrors whatever the desktop has.
While this is not comparatively new, only a handful of laptops come with this feature. Showing off files, videos and photos otherwise only available to a user's desktop is now possible through the M5. Users can take it anywhere for display.
Acer Aspire M5 includes speakers. Specifically, the laptop has the Dolby Home Theater v4 is on board. Users can enjoy great audio experience through the four 2-watt speakers on the front. Whether or not the new upgrades will impress depends on the actual usage of the laptop. Good speakers do not mean much for thin and slim devices like laptops so this depends on user preferences.
The overall look and feel of the Acer Aspire M5 is great - though most users will have to be familiar with the ports found on the back instead of on the sides. Best Buy is already distributing the device. Prices start at $699.
