Acer's newest smartphone will inherit the legacy of not netbooks and personal computers. There are news already that Lenovo Group, Ltd. Is eyeing the mobile phones market and they are pushing through in 2014.

More companies are trying their hands on the smartphone market as demands continue to increase. There is also the successful crossover that Samsung did earning them a spot in leading players in tech today. Top Asian computer manufacturers like ASUSTek Computer, Inc. and Acer Inc. are also pushing for a place in this industry.

Acer previously tested the waters with their Acer Allegro. It was a low end version of the Windows Phone. Only a few units were released in January 2012. After their test, it has been rumored that Acer is taking the smartphone venture seriously. The company is set to release a premium Windows 8.1 phone in early 2014.

A German tech site leaked the information.

ASUSTek and Acer are recognized for being the crucial components to hybrid devices especially Windows 8 tablets. Both companies suffered considerable losses because the market did not respond well to Windows 8 at that time. The slump in sales had been damaging to both manufacturers. Nonetheless, Acer and ASUSTek are still putting their bets on Windows.

With hopes of a better Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 system, both companies are working on new devices that can feature and compliment the system. The OS duo is hoping to release their devices just in time for major holidays.

They also promised polishing the flaws of their predecessors.
