Acer will replace their first generation Iconia W3 sooner than expected according to reports. The piling concerns over the 8.1 Windows 8 tablet will force the company to release the refreshed version as soon as this coming September.

According to Sterre Swank, Acer Netherlands spokesperson, the refreshed line of Iconia W3 will be thinner and lighter.

While Acer still needs to confirm whether they will change the screen or not, reports believe fixing the screen is the primary concern of the company. Majority of user feedback indicated problems with the screen of the laptop.

CNET reported that the W3 has been linked with poor display quality. Users are still waiting for announcements about the improvements to be made on the refreshed version. Speculations indicate that Acer may include the LCD (TN-LCD) to in -plane switching (IPS) technology. This offers improved viewing angles. Colors can also be more accurate.

The IPS technology is the same display method Apple included in the iPad. Samsung has also featured the technology including the Nexus 10. Acer has been receiving a number of complaints regarding the display screen of the Iconia. Unless the company moves fast into addressing the problem, they can lose a lot on sales.

Consumers will have to wait before they decide on how the next Iconia W3 will par. Earliest reported release is on September.
