An Indonesian actor pleaded guilty in a Perth court to reckless driving while filming a movie and was given a $500 fine.

Martua Nainggolan turned right into a central city at speed yesterday afternoon, almost hitting several pedestrians who were crossing the road.

Police officers also saw the incident.

According to the police, the movie involved filming a car taking the corner of Hay and Barrack streets at high speed during peak hour last night.

Mr Nainggolan lost control of the BMW and slid across the street, almost crashing into the people in the Hay Street Mall.

The mall was heavily populated and it is a miracle that no one got killed.

Today, Mr Nainggolan's lawyer told the court that he was filming a scene for a movie called "Love in Perth" where he had to test the brakes of the car.

His lawyer also said that the film's crew was monitoring the scene and was permitted by the City of Perth to film in the area.

Mr Nainggolan was granted a spent conviction order and will not have a criminal record.

He was also ordered to pay more than $60 for court expenses.
