South Australian Premier Mike Rann has confirmed that Adelaide is hosting a three-day music and arts festival in October in hopes to promote awareness on various issues concerning the environment.

"Earth Station (will be) highlighting environmental issues through a targeted artistic and music program," South Australian Premier Mike Rann said, according to HeraldSun.com.

The Australian Premier said that the inaugural Earth Station event will be held in Adelaide’s Belair National Park from October 21 to 23.

"Over the three days, patrons will see and participate in forums, workshops, performances, sustainable technology demonstrations and even an international think-tank concentrating on one significant issue," Mr Rann added.

Funded by the state government, the Earth Station will be presented by the WOMADadelaide Foundation. The October event said, HeraldSun.com will complement the city’s world music festival, WOMADelaide.

An estimated 400 people can be accommodated at the national park during the festival. The tickets for the festival will be available in June and completed event program is scheduled to be released in August.
