Adele beat the King of Pop Michael Jackson's Bad album sales record.

There is no stopping Adele and her success as she broke another record with her glorified sophomore album, 21. This time, Adele toppled one of the most successful albums of the King of Pop after Thriller.

The British songstress is now the owner of eighth biggest selling album of all time in the UK, with sales of 4.02 million, according to Official Charts Company.

Adele's album just need to sell another 150,000 copies to be at par with Dire Straits' 'Brothers In Arms' and Pink Floyd's 'The Dark Side Of The Moon', which are the sixth and seventh biggest sellers of all-time in the UK.

The top five selling albums in the UK have been unchanged for quite some time with:

  1. Queen's "Greatest Hits" - 5.83 million
  2. The Beatles' "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band" - 5.04 million
  3. Abba's "Gold: Greatest Hits" - 4.98 million
  4. Oasis' "What's The Story Morning Glory" - 4.51 million
  5. Michael Jackson's "Thriller" - 4.24 million

Yesterday, Adele broke the record of Delta Goodrem. The 23-year-old singer is still on top of the charts for the 29th non-consecutive weeks, which is how long Goodrem's Innocent Eyes in 2003 as well as Neil Diamond's Hot August Night in 1983.

If Adele's phenomenal album will stay on top for another week, it will tie up with Beatle's Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which stayed on the chart for 30 weeks in August 1967.

Adele recently stated that she will be heading back in the studio to work on another album for the follow-up of her most successful album to date.
