Adele has revealed why her collaboration with Phil Collins fell through and never happened. Apparently the reason is she got cold feet. When her new album “25” was in its nascent stage, she had reached out to Phil Collins to get some help on her music. The 27-year-old popular singer admitted that she “just chickened out of everything” and that made Collins believe she is “a slippery fish.”

According to ABC News, Adele met Collins super-early in London, well before recording had started. She had a song in mind but she doesn’t remember whether she gave Collins a copy of the song or a chorus. Finally, she panicked and just went away.

Collins, on the other hand got the feeling that Adele became reluctant to work with him. In reality, she had decided against writing a record, period at that point. Adele admitted there is no problem between the two at least not from her side, reported Rolling Stone.

Adele’s album “25” broke many records selling 3.48 million copies in the first week.

When asked on the success, Adele said that Kate Bush, the English singer-songwriter, musician, composer, dancer and record producer is the inspiration behind her comeback album, reports The Guardian. Adele, after seeing Bush’s recent live shows, decided to work for another album “25” which has already broken many records.

“I read somewhere, and I don’t know if it’s true or not, that [her son] said when he was 16, ‘I want to know now why everyone loves you.’ And it makes me so emotional. After that show, it was: ‘I don’t want to wait. I don’t want to wait till my kid is 16, I want to show him now,” she said.

Adele has always strongly followed her single-minded approach to making music. She does so whenever she is ready. She has maintained a distance from big arena tours and has a peculiar reason for that.

“Performing to that many people for every night, for that long, I find something very lonely about it,” Adele said adding that even if she performs to 20,000 people, she will have to leave alone.

However, someone is saying “Hello” to Adele and that is none other than the 66-year-old Grammy winner Lionel Richie. The two have apparently decided to do a duet after a clever video mash-up of the two “Hello” songs by the artists went viral right after Adele released her track. The mash-up shows Adele saying “Hello” but hanging up soon after when Richie calls and says “Hello.”

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Richie did not take offence even when he was approached by many asking him to take action against Adele for using the term “Hello.” In fact he said he only owns the melody, not the word. Richie joked that at first, he started counting the royalties but soon realised that Adele was not using his tune.

“We are going to be doing something together - that's already almost in the works...I can almost say that we are talking, but right now she has a mission,” Richie said adding that the duet can only be possible once Adele has completed her tour.
