Highly-acclaimed singer Adele finally responded to the controversial comment of the fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld who said that the singer is "quite too fat."

According to the singer, she is proud of her body and her image as she represents women. She also added that she never dreamed to be a model strutting the catwalk or posing on the cover of a magazine.

According to the interview of Adele with the People magazine, "I've never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines. I represent the majority of women and I'm very proud of that," she said.

It seemed that Lagerfeld would like to compliment Adele but offended the singer instead when asked for his opinion about women pop stars. He said in an interview with the Paris newspaper that, "The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice."

The fashion guru added some offensive comments such as the Royal Family were 'totally unnecessary, but pleasant'. He also called Russian men 'ugly' and said Greeks and Italians have 'disgusting habits.'

The comment made by the creative director of Chanel against Adele was heavily criticized by many. LA-based blog Curves and Chaos, which is a blog for full figured women disapproved of the incident and condemned Lagerfeld and Chanel.

The star confirmed that she is not obsessed into losing weight and that she loved how she looks. The singer was seen to be sporting a smaller frame that could be the result of her recent health battle that caused her to cancel some of her commitments.

There is no statement or apology from Karl Lagerfeld at the moment.

Adele rose to stardom after the successful release of her two albums 19 and 21 that sold more than 23.5 million copies up to date. Last year, Adele has undergone a throat surgery due to illness. However, the singer is set to return to her career with a performance for the Grammy Awards at Los Angeles on Sunday.
