Adele Receives MBE Medal Award From Prince Charles
Adele receives another award. This time, she gets a medal instead of a trophy.
The Someone Like You singer gets the title of the "Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE)," during a ceremony at the Buckingham Palace, with Prince Charles presenting the award.
Adele and Prince Charles were seen chatting with each other as the latter pins the medal to the former, "presumably congratulating her on her immense musical success," according to The Daily Mail.
She wore a dark blue jacquard dress with green details from Stella McCartney and a veil from Philip Treacy. But the press took notice of her nails which she painted royal blue and both ring fingers were decorated with a crown nail jewel with red rhinestones.
Adele briefly spoke to the press after the awarding ceremony, which she described as a 'very posh' affair.
"It was an honor to be recognized and a very proud moment to be awarded alongside such wonderful and inspirational people. Very posh indeed," the singer said who will now be officially called Miss Adele Laurie Blue Adkins (MBE).
The announcement that she will receive the MBE award was made shortly after Amazon announced that Adele's two albums, 19 and 21, made it to the Top 10 Best-Selling Albums of All Time.
The award was also the latest addition to the long string of awards that she received in her seven years in the music industry. These include an Oscar award this year for Best Original Song for Skyfall and a total of nine Grammy awards, six of which she received last year.
Adele has taken a long unofficial hiatus for two different reasons. The first was due to her throat problems which she received treatment in 2011. The second was due to her pregnancy with her child with partner, Simon Konecki, who was born last year, and whom she is looking after up to this day.
There were rumors that she is planning to go back to recording for her third studio album, which is set for release next year. Adele has stressed in an interview that she will not write another heartbreak song again because "she is done being a bitter witch."
Perhaps her happy little family has made her move on from the heartbreaks that inspired her songs, "Someone Like You and Rolling in the Deep."
