Miley Cyrus was easily the most talked about celebrity in the year 2013. She rose to fame like no other celebrity and captured new heights with her music, dressing sense, her antics, her twerking and much more. The year 2013 belonged to Miley Cyrus because she successfully proved she is the new rebel child and not Hannah Montana anymore. She killed her sweet innocent screen image of former Disney princess and metamorphosed into a person who she really is at heart - a wild twerk queen!

The 21-year-old kicked off the 2013 in January with her newly announced engagement to her long time boyfriend "Hunger Games" actor Liam Hemsworth. The two became the talk of the media and the speculations about their impending marriage begin. But this was not what Miley had in mind. She wanted to prove she was a wild child hence she made headlines again in February by appearing in a sexy white backless dress at the Oscars.

Come March, Miley's pictures are seen splashed on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine.

"Some of the worst things that have happened in my career ... have actually been what's best for me," says the singer to the magazine referring to her stint as a "Hannah Montana." Yes, we empathize with you Miley, your child hood was spent in front of the camera and you couldn't do things that most teenage girls could! But come think of it, you became a celebrity when you were just 12! There is a price to pay for everything.

In April, Miley left her engagement ring at home and became more stylish by chopping of her hair. Back then, her hair was a bit long but then in May Miley appeared in a very wild spiky hair. She debut a bleached look for a fashion event that shocked everyone.

June belonged to Miley too as her hit single "We Can't Stop" was in news for it was a very raunchy video where Miley made out with dolls and talked about drugs. "We Can't Stop" also reserves its place at number 4 position on Spotify's most-viral list. Also, during this month, there was news that Miley's dad had planned to divorce Tish Cyrus ( Miley's mom) but the couple cancelled their plans!

In July, "We Can't Stop" reached No. 2 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart and Miley also got a chance to appear in her own documentary with MTV. MTV just did a mistake which will last till the end of year! Henceforth, Miley will begin to rule MTV and will become famous because of it!

August onwards is Miley's time now. She created history by appearing in a latex bikini on the MTV Video Music awards and became the talk of town when she famously twerked on Robin Thicke's crotch while dancing away with a foam finger! It's Oh! Miley everywhere in media and people just can't stop talking about her. Miley learns her lessons - to remain in news - shed your clothes and adopt vulgarity. Hence forth she sticks to it.

In September, Miley and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth break off their engagement. Miley is a free birdie now. In October, she hosted "Saturday Night Live" and won our hearts but gets into an online feud with Irish singer Sinead O'Connor, who writes to Miley to stop being sexual and stop being exploited by the industry. Obviously, Miley doesn't take the advice seriously and strikes back on Twitter saying Sinead herself suffers from bipolar disorder and needs treatment! Ouch!

Come November, Twerk and Selfie become recognised as English language words, thanks to Miley. She performs her semi-naked anthem "Wrecking Ball" on the MTV European Awards and smokes joint on stage! In December, MTV names her the Artist of the Year 2013 and she becomes the most searched person on Google (no.3). Miley's "Wrecking Ball" also breaks all previous YouTube records and becomes the most watched music video till date!

Everyone is now waiting for what Miley will do on December 31 at the New York's Times Square when she gives her last ever performance of 2013. More twerking or something else? Let's wait and watch.
