Adrian Peterson has just lost his two-year-old son on Thursday. What is even sadder is that Peterson met his son for the first time during the final hours of the child's life.

As TMZ reported, the mother of the child had a sexual encounter with Peterson several years ago. Initially, the mother had a paternity test done on one of her exes, but it turned out negative. She, then, went to Adrian, and when the Vikings running back was told, he did not question the mother and earnestly asked how he could help.

Peterson has already arranged a meeting with his son on the latter part of October. However, Peterson did not hesitate to drop all his existing commitments as soon as he learned the tragedy involving the child who was brutally beaten by the boyfriend of the child's mother. He flew to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, right away. This was the very first time that Peterson met his son.

Peterson has expressed his feelings about the death of his son on Twitter, and he has been very concerned ever since the tragedy. Peterson is not new to tragedy. His older sibling died in an accident when he was just seven. His father was sent to jail for money laundering, and lastly, his half-brother was shot and killed in 2007 the night before his NFL debut.

These tragedies have probably made him stronger like he is right now. Despite his son's death, Peterson still played on Sunday during the match of his team Minnesota Vikings against the Carolina Panthers. It was just a couple of days after his son died.

"I believe God wants good to come from playing through tragedy," Peterson said in an interview prior the game, as reported by CBS Sports.

The Vikings lost to the Panthers.

"I do not ask people to understand my mindset and how I think," Peterson said after the game. "Anything that is bad, I try to take good from it, it was all about just going out there and having the courage to play as well as the strength to get through and help my team," Peterson added.
