The Australian Electoral Commission made its second and final payment to the Sept 2013 political parties and candidates. The payment is in lieu of the votes received at the 2013 Sept election.

The final payment amounted to $1 709 215 bringing the total to $58 076 456.

AEC made the payment in two instalments. The first instalment paid based on the number of votes counted during the 20th day following the election. This second and final payment was based on the remainder due, once vote counting is finalised and completed.

AEC calculates the payment using an indexed sum per first preference vote which was worth 248.800 cents.

In order to be qualified for election funding, a candidate must obtain at least four per cent of the first preference vote.
