Last week, rumours mills were busy with the story of love rekindling between Prince Andrew and Fergie -Sarah Ferguson. Media reports suggested that the royal couple, both 53, may well be in the path to get remarried after 17 years of divorce. But after all the excitement over the past week, Hello Online on Monday reported that rumours are after all, rumours.

But the media has been crafty enough to raise a question mark on the rumours. "Fergie, Prince Andrew Getting Back Together?" said the Huffington Post in its heading and quoted sources as saying "The Couple Will Remarry."

"Mark my words, they will remarry," a "friend" was reported as telling UK's The Telegraph. "It is only a matter of time."

But there is no smoke with fire and no rumour without a spark.

Expectations of a romantic reunion and hopes of it ending at the altar, was fuelled by Sarah's visit to Balmoral earlier this month. She joined her ex-husband and their daughters for a weekend at the Scottish retreat with the royal clan.

However, on Monday, Fergie set the mills to rest.

Ferguson's spokesperson denied rumours around the royal couple's reported romance. The spokesperson confirmed that they will always be friends as they support their two daughters Princesses Beatrice, 25, and Eugenie, 23.

"They continue to be joint parents and best friends and try to set the best example for the girls", the spokesperson told Hello magazine.

Sarah became to Duchess of York after her marriage to Prince Andrew on July 23, 1986. A rather unflatteringly British tabloid press would often ridicule her as "Duchess of Pork" as her weight climbed.

In the early 1990s the marriage was hit rough weather after Fergie was frequently seen the company of other men, notably Texan multimillionaire Steve Wyatt, and topless pictures of her sunbathing along with John Bryan, an American financial manager, were published in the British tabloid Daily Mirror.

After 4 years of official separation, the royal couple divorced in May 1996. Prince Andrew has continued to provide financial support for his ex-wife.
