The Australian Industry Group (AIG) in conjunction with Deloitte Private is in the field conducting a survey of private and public companies.

The survey due in October covers industries from accommodation to wood product manufacturing. All industries, whether private or public, in the different provinces will be included even if these have an international market.

The survey focuses on the growth drivers of the industries. The survey questionnaire requests a ranking of six factors: quality of management, quality of product or services, level of innovation, ability to attract and retain qualified people, brand or goodwill, and service standards.

Other items in the questionnaire also include the values, approaches, and strategies which companies are adopting in order to meet their business objectives for the short-term and long-term. Twenty one growth strategies are to be ranked in the survey instrument.

Even human resources requirements will be gathered. Moreover, the survey will also be determining what the business sector sees as the key priorities that government should have for business growth.

Tax reduction, a simplified tax system, and less income taxes are three of the nine suggested government priorities to be ranked on the survey form.

The results of the survey will be shared with the public in October this year.
