Case Affleck turns 38 on Aug 12. Interestingly, his big brother Ben Affleck is going to turn 41 just after 3 days on Aug 15. The Affleck family must have been in a mood of celebration this week as Casey's next film, Ain't Them Bodies Saints is all set to release in the same week, to be precise on Aug 16.

David Lowery is the writer-director of Ain't Them Bodies Saints which is a story of Ruth Guthrie and Bob Muldoon (played by Casey Affleck). Rooney Mara plays the character of Ruth Guthrie. The film has already had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2013. It was awarded for cinematography which was done by Bradford Young.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

Casey was nominated for numerous awards including the Academy Award, Golden Globe, LFCCA, BFCAA, CFCAA, Chlotrudis and Screen Actors Guild Award for his supporting performance as an actor in the film. He won several of them as well. Casey plays Robert Ford who eventually kills Jesse James played by Brad Pitt. Andrew Dominik directed this screen adaption of the 1983 novel which deals with the relation between the two principal characters.

Casey was again nominated for this film and won a few of them. This film is the debut of Ben Affleck as a director. Ben makes the screen adaptation of the Dennis Lehane novel which is about 2 private investigators, Angela Gennaro and Patrick Kenzie (played by Casey Affleck). This was among the best films of 2007. It got an Academy Award nomination as well for the best supporting actress Amy Ryan.

Steven Soderberg, the master director of thrillers, did the remake of a 1960 film which had a high-profile casting list, including Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Andy Garcia, Don Cheadle and Casey Affleck. This was among the top films of 2001. Casey's portrayal of Virgil Malloy got him a nomination in multiple award ceremonies, including the MTV Movie Award.

Casey Affleck marked his debut as the director with this mockumentary in 2010. He also wrote it along with Joaquin Phoenix, who is the protagonist of the film. The narrative follows a mock documentary style. It shows Phoenix's transition from an actor to a singer. The film had its premiere on Sept 6, 2010, at the Venice International Film Festival.
