Air Jamaica has reinstated non stop flights to Orlando from Kingston Jamaica, effective immediately.

A Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with 154 seats—16 in Business Class, and 138 in Economy, will operate the flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Introductory fares start at US$89, plus taxes, one way. Additionally passengers travelling on return trips between Kingston and Orlando will be allowed three checked bags at 50lbs each until November 15.

“Reintroducing our non-stop service to Orlando—the fifth largest metropolitan area in the Southeast US—is an important milestone in our strategy to strengthen operations,” said Will Rodgers, Acting General Manager of Air Jamaica. “The flights, which originate in Port of Spain, will serve Orlando’s growing Caribbean Diaspora, as well as seasonal leisure travellers from the Caribbean.”

With the addition of the new flights, Air Jamaica - named Caribbean’s Leading Airline by the World Travel Awards in 2009, now operates 136 departures weekly to six destinations in the US, Canada and the Caribbean— New York, Philadelphia, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Toronto and Nassau.

Next month Jamaica will play host to the World Travel Awards Caribbean & The Americans Gala Ceremony at Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort & Private Island.

The event is set to attract the top decision-makers and thought-leaders from across the Americas and Caribbean as they compete for the most influential accolades in travel.
