The Alaska Aces got their first back-to-back wins in the 2013 PBA Governors’ Cup after a thrilling 102-99 victory over Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Sunday night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines.

Ginebra guard Mark Caguioa did not take the loss lightly however, ranting on social media after the game.

“This is the type of game kaya kong tanggapin miske talo great game by everyone very proud of my teammates #FOUL???” [This is the type of game which I can accept even if it’s loss. Great game by everyone. Very proud of my teammates. #FOUL???] the popular Ginebra guard posted on his Twitter account, @officialMC47.

“So pwede pala sa PBA yung traveling noh? Ksi d naman nila tinatawag on both teams eh.” [So travelling is allowed in the PBA? Because they are not calling it on both teams.] he sarcastically said in his next post.

While the player known as “The Spark” lashed loud at the refs, the Aces were silently effective in stealing the win over their rivals. The Aces actually had a 16-point lead early in the 3rd quarter, but allowed Ginebra to take the lead 96-89 late in the fourth.

The Aces averted the collapse, however, behind timely contributions from reinforcement Wendell McKines, who finished with 27 points and 16 rebounds; Calvin Abueva with 18 points and 11 rebounds; and Cyrus Baguio with 15 points and 5 assists.

Meanwhile, in the curtain-raiser, the Talk ‘N Text Phone Pals drubbed Global Port Batang Pier, 102-95 led by import Tony Mitchell, who had 35 points and 9 rebounds.
