The South Miami police has released a 23-minute video of Derek Medina walking into the police station to turn himself in for the murder of his wife Jennifer Alfonso, 26. The video taken by a surveillance video camera from the top and reveals the suspect's father, Derek Medina Sr. pacing back and forth nervously, the Miami Herald reported.

In a follow up to a brutal murder that is a telltale story of the times that we live in, Derek Medina was held without the bond for shooting his wife "multiple several " times and then posting photos of the corpse on facebook.

He appeared to be a high-volume online user when he told his facebook followers something like 'luv you, miss u, I'm going to jail or for a death sentence. You'll read more about it on this site. No remorse. No guilt. Just very friendly and accepting.

Despite the details that seem to point to a missing link, the question who would be online chatting or browsing, if you knew someone in your own house was physically injured or worse fatally hurt? This is a conundrum that needs to be unearthed as prosecution witness try out to flesh out the case a bit more.

Derek Medina Sr., father of the suspect, told CBS4's News, "They are making my son into an animal," adding, "He believes his son was simply defending himself."

He was scared of her all his life, all the relationship, because he always reported to me that he would get beaten by her," said Medina Sr. "She pushed him to the point of insanity."

At the moment, Medina is being held in a county jail's psychiatric wing.

This is certainly a shocking crime for someone who was involved in church and Medina was described to be an average Joe by people that know. Derek was an ebook publisher on Amazon.com and Barnes & Nobles. Many of them including parents of the couple said had no idea how this happened. And they were not aware of a domestic violence problem.

The argument that Mr. Medina was defending himself is diffused by his near professional skills in martial parts and he has made videos of himself making strikes with precision and accuracy. That stand is unlikely to hold up in court since Mr. Derek was able to take out the knife from Alfonso's hand before shooting her.
