Twenty four-year-old soccer player Alex Morgan of the U.S. Women's National Team announced her engagement with long-time boyfriend Servando Carrasco, who plays as a midfielder for Major League Soccer (MLS) team Houston Dynamo, on Twitter on Dec. 10.

"Couldn't be happier, #lifeisgood," she wrote on Twitter along with a picture of her and Carrasco. The huge rock on her finger was pretty noticeable which led many to speculate that the Morgan is officially off the market. Some reports claim that the two officially became engaged a day before Morgan made the revelation on Twitter.

It seems like male soccer fans were the ones heartbroken to find out about the two love birds' engagement.

"I didn't take the Alex Morgan engagement news well," one Twitter user wrote. "Starting a support group for those who need help coping with the news of Alex Morgan's engagement," another fan wrote.

Despite the not-so-overwhelming reaction from the male soccer fans, which is actually a little expected, some people especially Morgan's teammates and friends were very happy to hear about the couple's engagement.

Sydney Leroux was quick to cheer and pass on good wishes to Morgan. "Congratulations to my beautiful friend and teammate @alexmorgan13," Leroux wrote on Twitter. "I'm about to plan the best bachelorette party of all time," she added.

"Congrats sista," ESPN analyst and former U.S. soccer team member Julia Foudy also wrote. "Very happy for you both," she added.

The Olympic gold medalist did not reveal when the date of their wedding will be, but we are sure that she will keep us posted and make the announcement as soon as it is finalised. We expect that it will happen any time soon. Any engaged couple wouldn't want to be engaged for a long time, don't you think?

Morgan has once appeared in the Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated magazine. She was featured in a section comprised of athletes in body paint.
