Alex Morgan, Star Soccer Player on the Road to Recovery, Portland Relieved
Alex Morgan's left knee was injured in the 10th minute after colliding with the Breakers' Jazmyne Avant. The star soccer player did not show pain or acted like a ... girl. While everyone around her was stressed and worried, Morgan still managed to watch the rest of the game from the sideline with a big brace covering her left knee. Tough!
As a result, the sexy player, who made various top 10 lists of sexy women athletes numerous times, is only flown back to Portland on Wednesday evening to be evaluated on Thursday.
Many people are hoping that the injury is not severe and would not hinder the 24-year-old soccer star from playing. She is one of the strongest players of the national team and is expected to bring her team to victory in the upcoming 2015 Women's World Cup.
Despite the injury of one of its a-list players, as well as losing on the game itself, Portland did not lose its chance to be qualified for the inaugural NWSL playoffs. The Thorns join FC Kansas City, Western New York and Sky Blue FC in the postseason.
Of course, if Alex Morgan would be unable to recover and return from her injury for the playoffs, Portland's would have to work doubly hard to compensate for Morgan's scoring abilities.
Alex Morgan is Portland's leading scorer, with nine goals in 18 games, plus four assists. This is impressive and no team vying for medals can afford to lose. Alex Morgan was not the 2012 Olympic gold winner for nothing.
True to her optimistic and strong self, Morgan expressed her gratitude to her fans and remained upbeat before her medical evaluation. She posted on Twitter:
"Hey everyone thanks for all the words of encouragement. Will go through further eval tomorrow and update everyone then. #positivethoughts"
And if the tweet below is true from Morgan just very recently, then Portland should give a big sigh of relief:
"Last night was rough but thanks to amazing Docs/trainers I was able to get immediate care. On the road to recovery!"
