New York Yankee's third baseman has been officially suspended by Major League Baseball for 211 games with no pay, following his scandal with Biogenesis of America.

The Yankee will be barred for the rest of this year and his suspension will last throughout all of the 2014 season, making it the longest ban MLB has ever made for a doping violation.

As the ban will be effective on Thursday, A-Rod has since made his debut on Monday in a game against the White Sox in Chicago. The three-time MVP was met with much animosity as the crowd made it apparent he was a cheater in their eyes.

After MLB announced his suspension, the 14-time All-Star met with the Chicago press to express his thoughts on recent events saying that "the last seven months has been a nightmare" as he described it to be "the worst time of [his] life." During the press conference, A-Rod conveyed solemn gratefulness at having the opportunity to wear the NY Yankees uniform again.

There were no apologies made by the Yankee star regarding his involvement in the doping violation. He has been recently narrowly dodging questions whether he had taken steroids or any other performance-enhancing drugs and/or other banned substances.

David Cornwell, A-Rod's attorney, confirmed that they will be pursuing any legal remedies for his client, as the Yankee himself subtly confirmed it in the press con saying, "This is America, you have the opportunity to defend yourself."

MLB has released a statement from their Web site stating:

"Rodriguez's discipline under the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program is based on his use and possession of numerous forms of prohibited performance-enhancing substances, including Testosterone and Human Growth Hormone, over the course of multiple years."

Among the barred players, who were given a suspension of 50 games, in relation to the Biogenesis scandal, are the following: Francisco Cervelli and Fernando Martinez (New York Yankees), Jhonny Peralta (Detroit Tigers), Antonio Bastardo (Philadelphia Phillies), Nelson Cruz (Texas Rangers), Everth Cabrera (San Diego Padres), Jordany Valdespin and Cesar Puello (New York Mets), Jesus Montero (Seattle Mariners), Sergio Escalona (Houston Astros), Fautino De Los Santos and Jordan Norberto (free agent).
