“True Blood” fans know how often Alexander Skarsgard is shirtless or nude on screen. Not that that anyone’s complaining, but it’s just a wonder how completely at ease the sexy actor is with nudity while his co-stars struggle with it. Well wonder no more as the 32-year-old actor revealed why going naked feels so natural to him.

Skarsgard, who plays vampire Eric Northman on the U.S. supernatural show, stopped by late night talk show “Conan” on Wednesday, wherein the titular host asked him why he is so comfortable in his own skin.

He said that his lack of reservation in shedding off his clothes has something to do with his being Swedish.

“In general people are generally more comfortable with nudity in Sweden. And I also come from a family, my dad, especially from his side of the family, are old hippies and Bohemians, and I think I was fourteen when I first saw my dad wearing pants,” he said, referring to “Thor” actor Stellan Skarsgard.

“He was always naked. Always,” he added. “He’d be at home cooking or just chilling with no clothes on.”

To which Conan O’Brien replied, “I think cooking without clothes would be hazardous.”

“It’s not that big so it’s fine,” Skarsgard deadpanned before clarifying, “I mean the stove is really low so it’s not a problem.”

Skarsgard is so comfortable with being naked that he doesn’t wear any protective “sock” when filming nude scenes on the show.

In 2010, Skarsgard and co-stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer posed naked on the cover of the September issue. The trio, covered in fake blood, only had their limbs to cover their modesty.

And while real life married couple Paquin and Moyer, who play Sookie and Bill respectively, reveal they wear a “patch” (for Paquin) and “sock” (for Moyer) when filming nude scenes, Skarsgard doesn’t.

“I don’t want a sock around it, that feels ridiculous. If we’re naked in the scene, then I’m naked. I’ve always been that way,” he said.
