Alfred Will Be ‘Different’ In ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ --Report
The character Alfred will be "different" in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," according to Oscar winning actor Jeremy Irons. He was at the Marrakesh International Film Festival when he spoke about his role in the upcoming movie. The actor also spoke about how films can contribute to making the world better.
This is reportedly not the first time that Jeremy Irons visited Morocco for a film festival. The actor was in the country shortly after the tragic 9/11 incident in the U.S more than a decade ago. The actor reportedly believes that cross-cultural understanding and highlighting the capability of people through movies can make a better world.
The actor also took the time to share some thoughts about his role in the upcoming movie "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." Speaking to HollywoodReporter, the actor said that the character Alfred in the movie may only appear for a short period of time but the role will be different from what movie buffs have been used to.
Given that the upcoming movie has multiple characters and many of them being superheroes, Jeremy Irons reportedly said that Alfred will not have a "large role" in the movie. But the actor did say that the character will be more "hands-on" in the movie and will not just play a butler to Bruce Wayne.
The character Alfred was previously played by the veteran actor Michael Caine in the 2012 movie "The Dark Knight Rises," directed by Christopher Nolan. The character in the movie mostly played a supporting role and was not a part of most of the plans Bruce Wayne made in the movie.
Jeremy Irons described the movie "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" as not different from the movie "Die Hard: With a Vengeance." The actor played the role of the villain Simon Gruber in the 1995 movie. The actor reportedly said that Zack Snyder had "clear views" about what he wanted from the actor in the upcoming movie.
"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is directed by Zack Snyder and is slated to be released on March 24, 2016 in New Zealand and on March 25 in the UK and the U.S. The release date information for Australia has still not been made available.
