Will the 83rd Academy Awards be all white next year? This is the question that The Hollywood Reporter aims to answer as it explores the possibility of an all white-nominees for the next award.

The Hollywood Reporter said "there's a real possibility that for the first time since the 73rd Oscars 10 years ago, there will be no black nominees in any of the acting categories at the February ceremony. "

"In fact, there are virtually no minorities in any of the major categories among the early lists of awards hopefuls."

The web site cited as example the current movie line-up in theatres right now: The King's Speech, Black Swan, 127 Hours, The Social Network, The Kids Are All Right, Hereafter and The Town. It observed that thses pictures "all feature fairly homogeneously Caucasian casts."

A more ethnically-diverse set of nominees will be more in line with the Academy's status as an international organization, as pointed out by the current Academy president.

"For the Academy to continue going forward, it has to be relevant and it has to be inclusive of everybody. We're a worldwide organization. The only thing we missed last year was an international production for best picture," Tom Sherak, Academy president, as quoted by web site.

"My hope is that we get more ethnicity in the Academy."
