Davey knocked herself out after she ran into the kitchen and slipped after a bucket of ice water was poured over her head by her mother, Irene Vitali. Davey was left with a severe whiplash, bruises and a huge swelling on her head, which was brought under control by placing frozen vegetables on it. The mother of two has warned all those who are participating in the ice bucket challenge "not to run."
Davey, who now laughs every time she watches the video of her failed ice bucket challenge, said that her legs were under her when she fell and realises that the injuries could have been much worse.

"I was knocked out for a few seconds and when I opened my eyes my mum was asking if I was ok. I had pins and needles all down my arms and when I went to speak blurred words came out. I had only had half a glass of wine, so I know it wasn't that, Davey told Liverpool Echo. She further continued, "I knew I had really banged my head, I had a huge bump and the scalp was black, blue and purple."
Davey "couldn't move her neck" the next day. Referring to the pain as "killing," Davey rushed to the A&E hospital where she was told that she might have broken her neck. "The doctor who examined me said that I had been very lucky and only had severe whiplash," said Davey.
The video of her failed ice bucket challenge has already had more than 1,500 likes on the Facebook page - ice bucket challenge fails. Speaking about the video, Davey said that many people who saw the footage told her that it was the best video that they had seen in a long time.
"You tell kids at the swimming pools when they are little not to run as they will slip. But when you are freezing cold you don't think about it. My boys saw the video and thought it was hilarious, they were not even remotely concerned that I had hurt myself," said Davey.
